Essentials Of Public Health Management PDF

This book is required for my Intro to Health Policy & Management class. The chapters presented in the book tie nicely with the topic of public health management. Each chapter provides a good deal of information while keeping them within a reasonable length. I feel that too many textbooks use unnecessary padding and jargon that ends up breaking the flow of reading, which this book thankfully avoids. Each chapter has a cheesy but useful "case study" (in quotes because they're way too idealistic to actually happen) that helps integrate all the concepts of the chapter into a "real-world" (again...none of this would probably happen the way it does in real life) scenario. Also provided are various online resources at the end of each chapter for further reference and reading. I highly recommend the book, even if you aren't currently taking a class related to public health management. The book is useful to a wide variety of professionals, including health care managers, health officers, or anyone interested in implementing the concepts of health care leadership(public health or otherwise) in their career. I'll definitely be keeping this book around for that reason.

This book was required for my Public Health Administration course online. I ended up reading almost this whole book cover to cover to write papers for my course. I must say compared to many other textbooks, this one was easy to read and had good application examples to help you understand the material. It helped a LOT in my application projects. I would recommend getting it if you are taking a similar course.
