Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine PDF

This is my first read of Ettinger's veterinary internal medicine textbook- 9 years ago in vet school it was a little dense for me and I went with Nelson and Couto as a primary internal medicine reference. I have to say, it's a lot easier to read now, probably due to having some experience under my belt rather than any substantial changes to the book itself. Having access to the text online is both a blessing and curse. It's great, because I can access the book from anywhere- home, clinic, coffee shop- whereas it would be difficult to lug around these two volumes any other way. However, the online book service is spotty and error-prone. Sometimes it has trouble logging in or loading a specific chapter/figure. It's slow in all respects if it does work. Its frustrating to read through 3/4 of a chapter and then have to switch to reading another chapter because the one you were reading suddenly says "book service not available", which happens often, not as an isolated event. I tried contacting the publisher's technical support, but they said after thorough investigation that they could not duplicate any of my complaints and no one else had made similar complaints. It's a good idea, but needs some implementation help. That said, I am getting a lot out of the book and I'm only part-way through the first volume.

Excellent reference, and the new chapters are very in sync with today's veterinary profession. Irreplaceable! The expert consult is a good extra as well.
