This is a 2013 pocket guide of psychopharmacology. It is intended to serve as a quick resource for health care professionals and students whom have involvement with psychiatric medications and patients. It serves to give the clinician a foothold in an environment that differs from other experiences in medicine, with differing terminology and disease states. This reference will cover the core medications used in general psychiatry practice from a pharmaceutical standpoint. The handbook begins with a brief introduction of terminology and psychiatric legal parameters, to medication doses, side effects, drug interactions, and most importantly, monitoring parameters, which are expounded within. There is even a simple guide to make pharmaceutical interventions on patients’ drug therapy. Disease states such as Anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse, and much, much more are reviewed. Best of all, the most important information for each is provided in summative, and easily indexed formats, so you can find the information you need as rapidly as you need it. This could be the best quick reference for important psychopharmacologic information you’ll ever own.

Condensed Psychopharmacology 2013: A Pocket Reference for Psychiatry and Psychotropic Medications PDF

One of the most informative and concise pharmacy references I have used. Contains plenty of detailed charts and diagrams outlining dosing recommendations and conversions, side effects, interactions, kinetics, monitoring parameters, among other useful information. Very easy to navigate and find the information you want within seconds. Perfect for pharmacy students, residents, mental health practitioners, or anyone who deals with psychiatric medications regularly, which is pretty much every pharmacist!

Among the drug classes covered are antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers/anticonvulsants, stimulants, Alzheimer's drugs, benzodiazepine and non-benzodiazepine anxiolytics, opioids, and treatments for substance abuse. Also contains great explanations of pathophysiology, mechanisms of different drug classes, and evidence-based treatment recommendations, all in a nice pocket-sized book. Highly recommended!

Condensed Psychopharmacology is a wonderful book. It is well organized and easy to read. It covers everything from Abilify to Zyprexa. This book makes a great reference guide for medical students, psychiatry resident, and psychiatrist. It is also a good reference guide for patients. I give it a 5 Star excellent rating. By Gregg L.
