Andrews' Diseases of the Skin: Clinical Dermatology - Expert Consult - Online and Print, 11e PDF

This is the standard issue book for Derm residents and clinic reference. This book maintains its format of stream of consciousness and is excellent for those who already have a foundation in Dermatology. This should not be your first derm textbook (buy big Fitz or Bolognia is that is what you need). Was lucky enough to come by an early copy and read it through for the inservice. I had hoped for corrections to some things in the last edition but the updates are not very thorough and some seemed like add on paragraphs (although I did not compare page to page with my old one). One that comes to mind is the reference to Ontak as its original numerical designation. Also noticed that the melanoma staging does not include mitotic rate for thin melanomas, which is now standard of care. Additional figures and surgery chapter are nice. The online access is nice for those who already have Bolognia and are used to expertconsult.com but it is by no means a substitute for having the actual book. A pdf or iPad version would be great.

Bologna is full of typographical errors
Fitzpatrick has turned into a comic book
Rook is like war and peace
Andrews packs into one volume anything truly relevant. For my primary textbook, it is exactly the right amount of detail. Any more, and it would lose me.
Each new edition really does have numerous updates and clarifications.
